ABOUT ME

I am largely a self-taught artist, after gaining a foundation at Falmouth School of Art. My works deal with a variety of subjects, mostly concerning the natural world.

Growing up in Cornwall, my coast and countryside surroundings had the most profound effect on me, and continues to inform my artistic soul.

For two decades, I lived within the estate adjoining the Lost Gardens of Heligan, so the growing emphasis for my work was the horticultural, agricultural and equine, and the many established trees around the estate.

During this time I continued to develop my portraiture, whilst gaining a teaching certificate, and teaching my own art classes.

In 2014, my work was recognised as one of the leading, local, contemporary artists in this field, and I was invited to exhibit for the Penlee House and Gallery's "Sons and Daughters of the Soil" 2015 exhibition, alongside the traditional Newlyn school artists.
